“Respect Ur Mother” T-Shirts

In March 2021, I was the Events coordinator for GW TRAiLS in charge of crafting gifts for departing seniors. I sketched out a possible gift – a t-shirt to speak to the greatness of the outdoors. While the shirt never made it as the senior gift, I decided to market the shirt amongst friends and family as a one-time deal for a cool, comfortable shirt at a reasonable price. After this initial order, however, more and more people inquired about buying shirts of this design, urging me to craft another order.

With the help of friends and family, I was able to coordinate four orders, selling over 200 shirts and distributing around the country and the world. The proceeds of these orders then went to local DC organizations, raising over $480 for Dreaming Out Loud LLC, DC Coalition for the Homeless, and Miriam's Kitchen.
